📚My Best Work From Trimester 3📓

Aloha! In this post, I am going to be writing about my best work. I am taking a piece of work from language arts, math, science, social studies (history), and art intensive (choice elective). This is my best work from trimester three and this is work that I am most proud of. I tried really hard in these assignments/tests to get a good grade. Hope you like it!

1. Language Arts: Book Club #1

Starting off, I am really proud of my book club #1 project. I am really proud of how my drawings came out. hmskatie, hmsevan, and I worked really hard on this project. I worked all night drawing the pictures for our ten-piece comic strip (Katie drew pictures too). I surprisingly got an A+/A on the project! I had no clue that I would get an A. I am really proud of that project because my group an I worked extremely hard on it. I actually think that we chose the hardest task to complete. We also had to complete an analysis form for the book that we read. We read the book: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. We had to answer questions about the book and I felt that I did well on that too!

2. Math: Math Test (Sequences)

I am really proud of my sequence test! I don´t ever get good grades in math so that is why I am averaging a B+.😭 I don´t know what it is, but I never have good luck on math tests (even though it´s not about luck). I really wish that I was good at math but to be fair, it is my worst subject of all time. On the other hand, I am still really proud of getting a B+ (88%) on this math test because I was determined not to get lower than a B! I studied a whole lot to make sure that I understood the concept of the math topic.

By the way, I know that for most people, a B+ in math is terrible, but I did well in my standards! (Mostly because I always do badly in math tests so I was really proud!)

3. Science: Challenger Mission Post Test

I am proud of my Challenger Mission Post Test. I got an A on this test but had no clue that I would even get half of the problems correct! I studied all the Rendezvous with Comet Halley worksheets so I would be prepared for the science test. I guess that since I got an A, all my studying paid off and I got a great outcome.

4. Social Studies (History): Ancient China Test

I am really proud of my Ancient China quiz. I studied all night for it because I wanted an A+. I am super proud of how I did on this test because I was up all night making sure that I got everything down. During the test, I didn´t feel nervous because I knew that all my studying would help me during the test. With that, I ended up getting a perfect score of 100%!

5. Art Intensive: Drawings/Painting

I am really proud of my drawings and paintings in art class. I work really hard on all of my art pieces and I take a lot of time and effort to do complete them. I always take a really long time on my artwork though.😂 However, all my time and effort on my paintings and drawings came out quite decent. I always need to make sure that it looks simple and perfect. One day, I hope to become a professional artist!

Well, that´s it for this post. I will see you next time, hopefully next year because the school year is almost over. I only have three and a half more days of school because I am going to Japan on the second to last day of school. Anyways, I hope that this post was interesting and I´ll miss Edublogs! Farewell, everyone!😪 Bye!!!!

❣❦ My Blog Audit ❦❣

Hey! This week of SBC is blog audits. Sadly, we are on week ten of SBC and this is the last post for this SBC season. I really enjoyed SBC because making posts and being creative on Edublogs is super enjoyable and exciting! I’m going to kind of miss SBC because now I am not going to know what to write about.😪 Overall, I enjoyed SBC and I hope to do it again. I am going to be writing about my time on SBC + answering questions, and one parent of mine is going to be answering questions about my blog as well, enjoy!!!

About my time on SBC:

I am really going to miss the Student Blogging Challenge. I am going to miss it because SBC gives me something to do and doesn´t make me feel bored. I will miss having topics to write about because once I do too many free posts, I have no idea what to write about. I will especially miss SBC because it is really fun to get to make new posts every week so people can read it. I am sad that SBC is coming to an end and hopefully, we get to do the Student Blogging Challenge next year in 2019-2020 season.

Answering Questions:

How many weeks of the challenge did you participate in?

In SBC, I participated in all ten weeks!

How many posts did you write in the ten week period?

In the ten-week period, I wrote ten posts but in addition, I wrote eleven posts and this will be my twelfth.

How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers, or other visitors?

I received three comments from three people at my school/HMS.

Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?

I enjoyed writing the catch up/free post because I could write about whatever topic and I could make it unique. I also really liked writing the free post because I could write about something that I was interested in to make it more creative and so I could make the post even better because I would actually be curious/interested in the topic that I would be writing about.

Which web tool(s) did you use to show creativity on your blog?

I used Compfight for my images so I could make my posts more realistic and so people could have a visual reference of what I was writing about/the topic.

What are your plans for your blog now? Will you keep posting?

My plans for my blog is to keep writing posts and to keep my blog alive! I am going to work on making better posts and to post weekly. Yes, I will keep posting because I enjoy making weekly and I like writing because it makes me feel calm and not stressed. Writing posts on Edublogs is relaxing for me.

Parent Answering Questions:

By the way, I typed exactly what my mom said so it was her exact words and opinions!

What were your first impressions of this blog?

My first impression of your blog was that it was interesting and nice. It is also very organized and informative!

What captured your attention?

The pictures in your posts captured my attention the most because the color of the images were vibrant.

What distracted you on the blog?

On your blog, nothing was distracting and everything looked normal.

What suggestions can you give me to improve my blog?

I suggest that you add more color and pictures so it gives me and all the people reading a better reference of what we are reading about!

That’s it! That is a wrap for the Student Blogging Challenge. I always have so much fun doing this and I am looking forward to hopefully doing this next year! Until my next time, bye!!!

Quotes📜

Hey, guys! In this week of SBC, we have two tasks we can choose from. I chose to do a free post! In today´s post, I am going to be sharing six of my favorite quotes. I decided to write about these quotes because if you are going through a hard time, you should read these to make you feel better! Enjoy!!

Inspirational Quotes

Wise Quotes:

Friendship Quotes

“If you never leap, you´ll never know what it is like to fly” –  Guy Finley

This quote isn´t really what you read off of. It means that if you never chase your dreams or try hard for something, you will never get a great experience. It is a saying that if you achieve something spectacular, then you feel like you are flying and on top of the world because you worked hard for it and you are proud of yourself.

“Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines” –  Robert H. Schuller

I like all of the quotes that I am writing about but this quote stands out. This is probably the most genuine thing and motivational quote that I am writing about. It is true though, your problems are not when you give up and stop (like a stop sign), problems are your guidelines for what you need to do to improve or fix something. It is also a saying that mistakes are apart of life and when you make them, you learn from them and hopefully shape all of us into a better person.

“You can never quit. Winners never quit, and quitters never win” –  Ted Turner

I also really love this quote, I love all the quotes!!! I also think that this one stands out but not as much as the previous one. This quote says a lot though. It is true, quitters never win against their battle, they lose. But, you are automatically a winner if you work hard and have determination! Confidence and determination is the key. If you want to succeed and be good at something, you can´t quit or you have already lost to yourself.

“If you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you loved the first one, you wouldn´t have fallen for the second.” – Johnny Depp

I really like this quote because if you actually think about it, it makes a lot of sense! If you do love two people you should choose the second, because that means that you truly didn´t love the first one! If you loved the first person, then why would you have loved another person? Basically, it is saying that if you love two people, always choose the second person. Plus, this quote is very wise and everyone should listen to this and it is 100% true!

You can’t be brave if you’ve only had wonderful things happen to you.” –  Mary Tyler Moore

This quote is amazing. It makes you think to yourself, “Is that actually true?” Well, it is! If only good, wonderful things happen to you, how can you be brave? When random, frightful, or panicking situations happen, you have to fight against whatever it is! You have to show that you can fight against it and be a brave and strong person. If none of those things happen to you, you are an ordinary, mediocre one, who hasn´t proven much.

“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart” –  Eleanor Roosevelt

To end off the quotes, I chose this quote. It most likely means a whole lot to many people. Friendship is one of the most important things in life. You know when you have true best friends/friends when they accept you for who you are as a person. They will walk into your life and not interfere with anything that isn´t right. True friends will support you all the way and always have your back, but fake friends are the people who talk behind your back and betray you. Authentic and loyal friends will be remembered in your heart forever and that is where their footprint is.

I honestly enjoyed writing this post so much because it teaches you a lot about life. I hope that this helps you in the future and pushes all of us to be a better person and friend.  I´ll see you in my next post. Have a great week! Bye!

♡♥ Disney ♥♡

Hello, in today’s post, I am writing about everything “Disney!” First of all, my family and I have been Disney lovers for a long time. I’ve at least went to Disneyland more than one-hundred times! We go a lot when we have the time to travel and we’ve done quite a lot of different things there. I am going to be sharing some information on the history of Disney and some tips for when you go there!

History:

LINKS TO INFORMATION:

1st Link

2nd Link

3rd Link

Walter Elias Disney was the creator of the original Disneyland. Disney was found on October 16, 1923, in Los Angeles, California.

Walt Disney was an American entrepreneur, animator, voice actor, and a film producer. He was also a pioneer of the American animation industry, and he introduced several developments in the production of cartoons.

Walt Disney began his career in animation with the Kansas City Film Ad Company in Missouri of 1920. In 1922 Walt Disney and his friend Ub Iwerks, (a talented animator founded the Laugh-O-gram Films studio in Kansas City) and began producing a series of cartoons based on fables and fairy tales.

Walt got the inspiration for Disney from a new idea. Walt Disney, Roy O. Disney, and Ub Iwerks shaped the character that would become Mickey Mouse. Ub drew the character, and Walt became his voice. According to Disney, the inspiration for Mickey Mouse came from an actual pet mouse he kept in his office in Kansas City.

Sadly, Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, at the Saint Joseph Medical Center Burbank, in Burbank, California from lung cancer!

Now, there are a whole bunch of Disney Amusement Parks all over the world!

Tips:

When you’re at Disneyland, the lines are so long. You need to go early to get the fast passes so you don’t need to wait in long lines! Plus, you should get an annual pass if you go a lot because it can save money. You need to pay a lot of money for an annual pass, but you pay less money than paying for every time you go there. There’s a ton of things to do to prepare for Disneyland. Disney is so crowded and hectic. It is extremely dangerous to wander off on your own because it’s really easy to get lost! Here are some TIPS to surviving at Disneyland! 😂

Some of the most popular rides are:

  • HyperSpace Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout
  • Matterhorn
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Indiana Jones
  • Incredicoaster
  • It’s a Small World

If you go to Disney anytime soon, remember these things and you should be just fine!!!

🎷Music 🎶

Hey! In today’s week of SBC, the theme is “Music!” I will be writing facts about the violin because it’s one of the most famous instruments. Also, I made this game called “Guess the Instrument” and “Guess the Song.” I will type words out describing the instrument, and by just looking at the words, you can try guessing the instrument! For the song, I will use some emojis and you can try by looking at them.

Violin:

The violin was first made around the 16th century by Andrea Amati. The violin is also known as the fiddle. Most violins have a hollow wooden body.  The violin is apart of the string and bowed string family. It is the smallest and highest-pitched instrument in the family. The instrument is related to a North African instrument called a “Rebab.” Rehab is a three-stringed instrument also played with a bow drawn across the strings.

365-4: "Not quite my tempo" Danko8321 via Compfight 2019 02 05 - violin still life Les Hutchinson via Compfight

Cool Facts:

  • If a violin is made correctly, it has a lively responsive feel in the hand. This is translated into waves of the sound in the air.
  • The violin was considered the leader in an orchestra before conductors became the main fixture.
  • The word violin originated from the Middle Latin word “Vitula.”
  • Playing the violin burns approximately 170 calories per hour.
  • Violins are typically comprised of spruce or maple wood.

Game:

  1. In the woodwind group, a wind instrument that produces its sound from the flow of air across an opening, and like a “recorder.”
  2. In the percussion group, makes loud noises, play with your hands or sticks, and shaped like a cylinder.
  3. In the percussion group, and has lots of black and white keys.

  1.   🙏➡️ – Ariana Grande
  2.   7️💍- Ariana Grande
  3.   🙂……😃 – Marshmello ft. Bastille
  4.   24 🥕 – Bruno Mars
  5.   🌊🐚 – Alessia Cara

I hope you learned more about the “Violin” and I hope that you liked the game! It was a mix of interesting and fun! I really enjoyed making this post and I am excited for more to come! Bye y’all!

📏 My Best Work From Trimester 2 ✏️

Hey, guys! It’s different today. In today’s post, I’m going to be writing about all of my trimester two work that I’m really proud of. This will be including a piece of work from language arts, math, science, social studies, and from one of our resource classes. Enjoy!

  1. Language Arts: Wordly Wise Tests

Starting off, I am quite proud of my wordly wise tests we all have to take because I get respectful grades. They aren’t too low nor perfect. I’ve never been that great at language arts, but I try really hard on all the tests we have in class. I take tests as an important thing in all classes at school! I’m just glad that I am getting better and improving on wordly wise. I study for a good amount of time for wordly wise tests because I want to get a satisfying grade. Practice and try hard if you want to get good at something!

Screenshot By Me: 97%

Screenshot By Me: 100%

2. Math: Percents Project

For math, I chose my “Percents project.” This project was probably the best project I did this trimester. I was super proud because I worked so, so hard on it. I took about three hours or more to make the project really good with no errors. I got a couple of errors here and there, but my average turned out to be an A! It was one of the hardest projects I’ve ever done because I took so long trying to figure out different ways to use percents in life! Overall, it was a fun project and I’m happy that we got to do it!

3. Science: Marble Run Roller Coasters

Third, I am so, so thrilled that our roller coaster turned out goo in the end. hmskaya and I were struggling in the beginning, but we got through it with a positive attitude! Our roller coasters looked unique and creative. Kaya and I had an amazing, cool coaster. It was really hard to get it to work, but we actually figured out a way. That’s exactly why I’m proud, we didn’t give up even if it didn’t work at first!

4. Social Studies: Ancient China (Forbidden City Project)

Second, to last, I was super happy how my “Forbidden City project.” turned out and how hard I worked on it. I worked especially hard on the grammar. I was determined to get an A since it was towards the end of the trimester. I ended up getting an A, but it didn’t really help my grade at all, surprisingly! Anyways, I’m still fortunate on how the research project turned out! With hard work, good things will come!

5. Art: Beauty Of Hawaii Painting

Lastly, for my resource class, I picked my artwork from art that is supposed to be about all the beautiful things in Hawai’i! I chose to paint a pineapple because I feel like Hawai’i is known for  Dole Plantation and pineapples! I took a long time on this painting. I took at least a month or longer just to finish this. It was challenging for me because I didn’t know what to paint and I kept messing up. I had to re-do it two or three times because I didn’t like the color and the way I did it in the beginning. I am really lucky that in the ending it turned out to be quite nice.

I hope you enjoyed my trimester two portfolio! See you in my next post!!! Have a great rest of your week!
